Day three of Market was a long day. We got there at 9am and didn’t leave until about 7pm so we saw a LOT in one day. We started by ordering some great cabinets that had a gray wash and natural wood doors. The hardware on them is absolutely fabulous! Here’s a little mini version. This one would be amazing in a dining room or as an entertainment console in a family room. The finish on it is just stunning.
Here’s my mom testing out the chair we ordered. Isn’t she just so cute? One of my favorite things I’ve seen in magazines and on Pinterest is a whole cabinet FILLED with shells and coral. They had a really pretty one. The coral was cash and carry and there was no way we were going to fit it into our carry ons! 🙁 Look how pretty it is though! In some areas of Market. you jump around between furniture showrooms and the more gift focused ones. Here are some cool gift items in a showroom. They were a little too “hipster” for my mom so we didn’t order but I liked them!We looked at a lot of lamps in several showrooms and didn’t find very many to order. It has gotten somewhat difficult for us to find lamps that look great and are under like $150 retail. I’m not sure what happened but it seems like the price of lighting has gone up more than anything else since we started going to market about 12 years ago.We did order a cute bunny though! This actually came to the shop today so it’s in the store now. A super cool wall of mirrored cabinets. It HAS to be from Europe. Sigh…Someday we will get to go to Europe and shop! I want their floors!Next, we looked at some table linens which I’m sure was thrilling for my fiancee… 😉
My mom, however, fell in love with a table runner for Christmas made of faux fur. She is so excited to set up a tabletop in the store with a “snowy” look using this runner. It’s fun to watch her come up with ideas for display. Her hands come alive while she’s talking about what she’s going to do with something. Someone else would probably look at this and wonder why she’s holding a strip of furry fabric, but in her mind, she sees an elaborate tabletop with reindeer and silver snowflakes and little twinkle lights.
One of their pretty Christmas displays. Gold was still huge at Market. We saw it everywhere.
We always stop in the Sugarboo showroom to see what’s new. It is absolutely adorable. They sell mostly wall decor, pillows, and paper products.
One thing we ordered from them is these sweet baby blankets with quotes. They are soft and fuzzy on the other side! I need someone to have a baby soon so I can give one as a gift! Our favorite is this one with the Velveteen Rabbit quote.
*Update-These are in the store now! There are a LOT of candles at Market. They’re in the permanent showrooms, the temporary showrooms, and everywhere in between. We ordered this cute candle for Christmas. If I’m remembering correctly, it smelled like a pine tree! We smelled so many things though and my nose was getting overwhelmed! My fiancee took the picture below. He just got the new Iphone and I’m thinking I NEED one because the camera is pretty awesome! We ordered a few quilts including this one with the little pom poms. More quilts. We saw a lot of cute wall decor in one of the temporary showrooms.
We ordered a few of the Christmas themed wall cutouts and lighted signs. By the way, we saw a lot of black, white, and gray in the Christmas decor for this year. I’m excited about gray for Christmas, but let’s be honest, I’m excited about gray on anything. The blue anchor in this picture is already in the store!
Below are some framed magnetic memo boards we ordered. I think this particular quote is my favorite for a girl’s room. We had this one in the store a long time ago but it sold in a day or two so you may not have seen it. The nice girls in the booth told us that this quote (Family. Forever.) is their best seller so we ordered it. Sometimes it’s nice to talk to the owners or sales reps and get an idea of what people are loving. After a long day of seeing thousands of products, everything starts to look the same and it’s nice to get another opinion. Here are some really pretty displays in a vintage inspired showroom. Sometimes it feels a little like walking into The White Rabbit because they use a lot of white and architectural pieces.I thought this deer head inside of the wreath was pretty even though I don’t know how you could kill a sweet Bambi. :/ My mom and I just love animals so much! We’ll stick with our faux deer heads!
This amazing piece is from an old house. LOOOOOOOVE!!! Wouldn’t it be neat to make into a headboard?? Not for sale though. Just part of their display. It was truly a long day and by about 6pm, we were all happy that the showrooms were starting to serve drinks! It’s about the only thing that can help with your sore feet. Here’s Rob with a beer and a stormtrooper.
I have one more day of Market to show you guys so stay tuned for more! -Lindsay
