Day 2 of market was exciting for me because my Fiancee, Rob, flew in to join us. He had never been to Market and he was thrilled to experience it for the first time. I snapped a pic in the lobby of our hotel while we waited for him to arrive. He got on a plane at about 6:00 am so we’d have as much time as possible.
We rarely make appointments with sales reps at Market but we did have one on the second day so we headed up to that showroom. It’s always busy so we wanted to make sure we had someone available to take our order.
We reordered the lighted metal letters because we were out of some of them. It bugs me that they still don’t make the letter “P.” We have a couple of people waiting for that letter!! Here’s where we sell them. Rob absolutely loved this area because it’s masculine and modern with a little bit of a vintage touch. The color on their walls reminds me of the Starless Night paint color I talked about in a recent post. Here he is trying out a leather chair. Notice his Mizzou shirt. Everywhere we went, people were giving him props for representing Mizzou. He loved it! This is a super cool old farmhouse sink they had on display. Not for sale! Just a prop but I thought it was amazing in the long wood counter. Wouldn’t you love to have a huge kitchen where you could have a super long counter with an old sink like this?
The next showroom we visited is a little more rustic. They use all fresh moss and plants in their displays and it gives it a special touch that you don’t see very often. You can tell the owners of the company care A LOT about every little detail. Years ago, we won a contest with them and they came to the store and set up a little vignette for us. I’ll never forget how fun it was. We’ve been buying from them ever since!
Don’t you just love everything in this picture?? The horse head, the boxwood, the trophy cups…they’re all fabulous! The only reason we didn’t order this horse head is because we had already ordered several other animal heads!
This is a picture of a high-end showroom that we always drool over. The prices are seriously nuts though! It’s nice to peek in and get some inspiration but we never buy anything.
After passing several showrooms that we already know are too expensive, we find one that is one of our go-to’s. I fell in love with this gray leather chair and I may put a pair of them in my new house to make a little reading nook. I love the look of leather AND my favorite color is gray AND I have a weakness for tufting so it’s pretty much my dream chair. We had been looking all over for Agate items which are outrageously priced but so pretty when we found these bookends. They will all be a little different but around this size. I can’t wait for them to come to the store! Here’s a good overall view of the showroom. It’s one of our favorites because it’s vintage and modern at the same time. Some of their pieces are vintage from Europe so you can order them but they will come in with slight variations from what you see in the showroom.
We ordered these cool geode chunks to use as jar fillers. I love their muted colors and the texture on them. We ordered some big bread boards. My mom said she’s been seeing some really pretty kitchens lately on Pinterest that had big breadboards on the walls or counters. I’ll have to share some pictures of this look soon!We also got some old dough boards. These are awesome on a coffee table, a long bench, or a kitchen table filled with something pretty like moss balls or shells. They had a cash and carry area that included this amazing old merry go round!!! The rep told us that it really works and we could sit on the bench but I was a little scared! Is it weird that I kind of wanted it though???Our next stop is the place where we order our paper table runners and placemats. We hadn’t ordered Fall and Christmas yet so we made some quick decisions. Pheasant for Fall? Check!
Subtle green and red stripe for Christmas? Check!Pumpkin placemats and striped runner for Halloween? Oh yeah!Gold Pinecone for Winter? Check, heck yeah!
One of our last stops of the day made my mom’s whole week because she’s been wanting to order Dash and Albert rugs for years and for various reasons, we couldn’t ever pull the trigger. This time, though, we did it. Below are some pretty throws we ordered in addition to some rugs. I love how pretty much everything they carry is a nice, soft, muted color. Some of their rugs. I can’t remember exactly what we ordered. It was really hard to pick! The second day of Market was a lot of fun. We picked out furniture, accessories, rugs, and more. I’ll be working on part3 in the next couple of days. Can’t wait to show you more! -Lindsay
